This custom welded steel "box" made it possible to install a 13x13 Lyemance original damper to a larger liner-less brick flue opening.
*NOTE: The fireplace was tested to draft with a smaller flue opening to be sure that the Lyemance damper would cause no restrictions or smoke issues.
The use of a Lyemance damper in this installation was that of the home owner/installer. The "cap-less" design and low profile of the damper were wanted and pleasing features.
Another alternative could have been the Chim-a-lator. |
